Editorial Policy
This page explains how Fit Travelling guides are made, so you can judge how much weight to give them.
How a guide is drafted
We are open about this: first drafts are prepared with the help of an AI writing model, working from a brief that sets strict rules. A second, separate AI pass then acts as a fact-check and standards editor. It looks for invented numbers, studies, quotes, people and personal anecdotes, for volatile destination details such as prices and opening hours, and for health claims that go further than mainstream guidance. A member of the Editorial Team then reads the guide before it is published, and edits or removes anything that does not hold up.
That process reduces errors, but it does not make a guide equivalent to advice from a doctor, physical therapist, dietitian or mountain guide. None of our guides are reviewed by a medical professional, and we do not claim otherwise.
Rules every guide follows
- No invented experience. We do not write first-person travel stories or describe trips that did not happen. Guides are practical how-to advice.
- No invented evidence. No made-up statistics, named studies, quotes or experts. Public health bodies such as the WHO, CDC and NHS are mentioned only in general terms, and specific figures are used only when they are widely published official recommendations.
- Stable facts only for destinations. We describe the lasting character of a place: its terrain, neighborhoods and the kind of activity it suits. We leave out prices, fees, timetables, opening hours, exact distances and elevations, and named businesses, and we ask you to check current conditions with official sources.
- Safety first. Health guides end with a section on when to check with a doctor. Destination guides end with a “Before you go” safety note.
- Nothing for sale. We do not accept payment for coverage, do not use affiliate links and do not recommend specific brands, supplements or products.
Corrections and updates
If you spot a mistake, or something that has changed on the ground, please tell us. We correct factual errors as quickly as we can and update guides when official guidance changes.
Images
Our cover images are generated graphics: map-style contour lines and route lines drawn by our own code. They are illustrations, not photographs of real routes.
